Nigel Mills, P.Eng.
Production Advisor

Moving from a field optimization services firm in 1996, Nigel started at Advantage Energy Services Ltd. (AESL) as Senior Operations Specialist where he worked for the next 7 seven years. During this time, his assignments exposed him to a large swath of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) in a wide variety of oil & gas production types and the full gamut of artificial lift methodologies.

Nigel’s skills were also highly valued by international operators for whom he completed important work assignments as an integral part of AESL Teams on missions around the globe, for example to offshore platforms in the Dutch North Sea and onshore properties in Australia’s outback.

Nigel’s ability to identify, quantify and monetize optimization upside opportunities proved to be a highly sought skills when AESL was contracted to quantify upside optimization value in several large corporate acquisitions in the early years of the new millennium.

Starting in 2003, Nigel was engaged by a number of junior to intermediate-sized oil and gas companies to apply and mentor operations staff on techniques aimed at maximizing production while holding a tight rein on lifting and maintenance costs in order to squeeze the most value out of every asset.

Nigel’s contribution to the success of AESL’s Integrated Field Review (IFR) Process has been achieved through his commitment to technology transfer that shortens the distance between the engineer’s desk and the operator’s field run. With Nigel in an advisory role in the management of production operations, the company’s objective to optimize business performance from the rock face to the sales meter is in very good hands indeed!
